A Lagos-based commercial motor park attendant, popularly referred to as an ‘Agbero’, has achieved academic distinction after graduating in Mass Communication from the Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH).
In an emotional expression of gratitude, the graduate acknowledged the support of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and the Lagos State Government, crediting them for the encouragement and assistance that helped him reach this milestone.
The graduate, who has now become an inspiring example of perseverance, also appreciated the chairman of NURTW in Lagos state, Alhaji Mustapha Sego. He urged his colleague to always be a good role model of the union, stressing that not all transport workers are tout.
“I am grateful to NURTW and the Lagos State Government for believing in me and supporting my education. Not all Agberos are tout; some of us are educated. I started my journey in Mass Communication a few years ago, and today, I've graduated with a first class,” he said in the regular Agbero tone.
