Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has praised Anambra State for its outstanding execution of the recently concluded Renewed Hope Agricultural Support Programme, describing it ‘as a model for achieving the initiative’s core objectives.’

She gave the commendation during the First Quarter High-Level Meeting with the wives of governors from all 36 states, applauding Anambra’s strategic and well-organised approach in maximising the programme’s impact.

During the meeting, Senator Tinubu presented a recorded video showcasing the key moments of the programme in Anambra.

She emphasised the significant progress that could be achieved if every state adopted similar strategies, as demonstrated by the Governor’s wife, Mrs. Nonye Soludo.

The First Lady noted that “every aspect of the programme was thoughtfully designed. The initiative began with practical training sessions held over two days at Anambra State Polytechnic, Mgbakwu, from February 20th to 21st, 2025, followed by an empowerment event at the Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia on February 26, 2025.”

Mrs. Tinubu specifically praised Mrs. Soludo’s genuine commitment to the programme, which ensured that each participant left with valuable resources and skills.

She said; “Through these efforts, Anambra State has set a precedent that could inspire other states to adopt similar initiatives, ultimately supporting the broader goals of agricultural development across Nigeria.”

According to Mrs Nonye Soludo, “Over two hundred beneficiaries, carefully selected to reflect diverse age groups, genders, and socio-political backgrounds, participated in the empowerment programme.

They received specialised training in poultry feed processing, vegetable farming, drip irrigation installation, and piggery, equipping them with the necessary start-up tools to launch and sustain their ventures.

The Renewed Hope Agricultural Support Programme is an initiative led by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu. It is part of her broader Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) and aims to empower farmers, improve food security, and support economic growth across the country.

The programme provides agricultural resources, training, and financial assistance to farmers, with a focus on women, youths, and households to encourage sustainable farming and self-sufficiency.
