The Nigerian Army has began movement of newly acquired weapons of war and soldiers into Sambisa forest and Lake Chad region for final showdown with Boko Haram after the defeat of the terrorists by Chadian army from the Chad flanks last week.
The Nigerian Army recently took delivery of a shipment of military vehicles from the China North Industries Corporation (NORINCO).
NORINCO delivered the first of 17 military vehicles compromising of VT4 main battle tanks, SH5 105mm wheeled self-propelled howitzers and ST1 tank destroyers.
The dreaded deadly insurgents have been operating in the North-eastern states of Borno, Yobe states since 2009, with its operational headquarters in Sambisa, a forest region in Borno state.
The latest deployment of troops and tanks to the region is a fall-out of the recent attacks of the Chadian troops where hundreds of the insurgents were killed by the Chadian government which has drawn international commendations and prompting the Nigerian troops to take reactionary measures.
